“The light of God is ever shining amid the darkness of Heathenism.” Desire of Ages 59
It is the first Sabbath of the new year! Our little church is full of people!! The Holy Spirit is impressing the people to come! I didn’t count, but there are more than ever before – they are seeking the truth! Four villages are represented here today! They are listening and attentive. Today my sermon title is: “Finding Jesus” I have the pictures of Jesus in Jerusalem at 12 years old and then one of his Mother after she found him in the temple.
“By one day’s neglect they lost the Savior, but it cost them three days of anxious search to find Him. So with us; by idle talk, evil-speaking, or neglect of prayer, we may in one day lose the Saviour’s presence, and it may take many days of sorrowful search to find him and regain the peace that we have lost.” Read the last part of Desire of Ages chapter 8. A lovely way to help these simple people to actually put to use the things they learn at church, and keep God in their thoughts.
The highlight of this Sabbath day was when a man got up spontaneously in church to give his testimony! This has never happened before in the history of BYT! He told of how he had been attending our Bible studies at DuPe’s house on Monday evenings and has been learning about the Bible. He mentioned DuPe and his victory over opium. He too wishes to stop the bad things and be a part of our church!
Already it seems that DuPe has been a mighty witness to the power of God in his victorious life.
The Holy Spirit is burning within my soul. My heart is simply exploding with joy and thankfulness to God!!
Please keep up your earnest prayers – because of them there is light from God breaking through the darkness of heathenism here in the jungle!!!
