November 7, 2015 was the day we wrecked the motor bike due to a faulty brake system and my leg got injured. The first 2 weeks there seemed to be no improvement and I was totally shut down from active labor. During that time I was learning the very precious character traits of patience and contentment.
There is a lovely meaning to Romans 5:3 “We glory in tribulations also, knowing that tribulation worketh patience.”
And put with James 1:4 “Let patience have perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing!”
And: 1Timothy 6:6 “Godliness with contentment is great gain.”
This is really significant. The words are so familiar – we know them by heart and they flow so easily from the lips without causing any deep life-changing meaning in the life. I believe they can only be overwhelmingly vivid to the soul when you are going through a difficult time. Really it is a huge blessing!
In summery: Tribulation works to bring us patience and patience
is what makes us perfect, lacking absolutely nothing!
Contentment through it all is linked right together with godliness!
Tribulation is exactly what we need. Isn’t God wonderful to give it to us? Yes, I can rejoice!
By the beginning of the third week after my injury something incredible began to happen. Each day brought a miraculous recovery! I could feel the hand of God restoring that leg. Each time I stepped out to climb a hill I was shocked by the strength I had. I sensed God’s power! I could bend my knee more each day. I could step up a shallow stair one day and a higher step the next. I could sit on the floor – knee bent! The next day I could kneel to pray! Yet the next I rode an hour and a half on the back of the motor bike gripping with my knees and pressing with my feet just a usual. By the next week I could even sit on my feet.
I am not crippled! In 4 weeks I am totally fine!! Praise the Lord!
Truly my heart is filled to overflowing! My tongue cannot cease to praise Him whom I delight to serve! At times the windows of heaven open up and pour out such a blessing that there is not even room enough to receive it!!
To you Americans today I want to pour out my thanks for all you do. Without your interest in this work, without your love, your encouragement, your response to the Holy Spirit’s call in your financial support, we would have folded up a long time ago, but when you pray it is a very powerful thing over here! Time after time we have faced very difficult, seemingly impossible circumstances which I have been able to notify you of – then I feel the power of your prayers and God works in wonderful ways right on time! We all really need each other in these last days! No souls are saved because of one person’s effort.
“When God’s ministers (Missionaries) are encouraged, His (God’s) cause is greatly advanced. But when, through the selfishness of men, their rightful support is withheld, their hands are weakened, and often their usefulness is seriously crippled.” Acts of the Apostles 340
Through your help and encouragement God’s cause is being greatly advanced!!!
Not crippled!!
Thank – you!
